What you know and what you don't know
This week the focus is on identifying the areas you lack strength the most. In order to further enhance your ability to communicate via Yoruba, it is important you take the time out to be honest with what it is you actually know and what you are able to pick up in parts. Do you know the connecting terms or do you just put 2 and 2 together?
Identify the gaps
“The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.” ―Daniel J. Boorstin
The best way to establish the difference between what you know and what you can piece together is by attempting to put sentences together. If you write ups sentence in English, attempt to translate it to Yoruba and find that you are getting stuck, it is probably because there is an aspect of the sentence structure missing. Take note of it and bring it to class next week.
